Amanda Eicher

Amanda Eicher is an artist and educator who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a member of the artist collectives OPENrestaurant and The Citizens Laboratory, she focuses on social practice and civic development projects. In collaboration with Marjetica Potrč and her students and Kultivator, an art and agriculture collective from Öland in southern Sweden, Amanda and OPENrestaurant participated in the creation of the Fittja Cafe and Common Roof Kitchen in Fittja, a Stockholm suburb where over one hundred languages are spoken. Eicher’s work also takes place at the University of California, Berkeley, where she teaches, as well as Richmond, California, and Colima, El Salvador, where she facilitates short-term, study-abroad experiences in the arts and social engagement for community college and high school students.
