Catherine Sullivan

Catherine Sullivan studied at the California Institute of the Arts where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and in 1997 received her MFA from the Art Center College of Design, Pasedena, CA. Her work addresses cultural regimentation and assimilation as it relates to the codification of behavior. Exhibitions include the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; UCLA Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; The Renaissance Society, Chicago; The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, Biennale de Lyon and Opera de Lyon, France; Volksb├╝hne, Berlin, Germany; Kunsthalle Zurich; Secession, Vienna and Kunstverein Braunschweig, Germany and Tate Modern, London. She is represented in the United States by Metro Pictures Gallery in New York, and Richard Telles Fine Art in Los Angeles, and in Europe by Galerie Catherine Bastide, Brussells, Galerie Christian Nagel, Berlin, and Galeria Gio Marconi, Milan.
