Lindsay Benedict presents us with fragments and gestures that examine and question social relations. In her work, affect and raw emotion are deployed to disrupt and destabilize any simple reading of human attachments. Benedict lives in Brooklyn and has shared work at Jack Hanley Gallery, Bose Pacia, PARMER, PS 122, Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, Pacific Film Archive, and the Berkeley Art Museum. She has performed at Danspace, Le Confort Moderne, Antonio Ratti Foundation, Dixon Place, and with Movement Research. She received a BA from Williams College, an MFA from UC Berkeley and was a studio fellow in the Whitney Independent Study Program.
