Maria Rosa Sossai is a curator, author and researcher into the politics of education and artistic practices. She teaches History of Art in Rome, where she lives. She wrote two books on artists’ video and films. Over the years she curated numerous exhibitions in commercial galleries, art foundations and museums, both in Italy and abroad. In 2008 she founded the association for contemporary art esterno22 which was subsequently transformed into ALAgroup (www.alagroup.org), an independent platform advocating the artist as the key figure in the learning-teaching process. As ALAgroup she is currently curating a number of projects, among them An Education, a series of exhibitions and workshops at Villa e Collezione Panza, Varese, promoted by FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano.
