S. Riley Duncan (b. 1991) is an artist based in New York and Virginia. His work reconsiders dichotomies between lived and represented experience, physical and pictorial space, truth and fiction. Scenes exist in distinct sites; words, images, and objects in a shifting script, themselves the stage as well as subjects.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in the Department of Sculpture + Extended Media. Recent projects include the publication of A Color Film or something like that, a screenplay made in hindsight, re-examining the acts and ephemera of A Color Film: And Everything Like That; these collaborative filmmaking and publication projects premiered March 30th, 2013 at the Historic Byrd Theater in Richmond, Virginia.
